The Utah Society of Certified Public Managers is a professional association of Utah public sector managers. To be eligible for membership an individual must complete the first of three training series of the CPM program. To be a Certified Public Manager, all three series, a total of 300 hours, must be satisfactorily completed.

Members participate in a multitude of projects by heading or serving on working committees. Members serve as mentors for CPM training classes.
Members of the Utah Society automatically become members of the American Academy. Publications and benefits come from the Utah Society and American Academy as duel members.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the American Academy Conference hosted each year by one of the member states..
The outstanding Academy member each year is recognized with the Henning Trophy, named for one of the founders of the CPM program, Dr. Kenneth K. Henning.
The Academy also awards a $500 Fran L. Wilkinson Memorial Scholarship to a deserving student planning a career in public management.
The
George C. Askew
Award is an acknowledgment by the
American Academy of Certified Public Managers(R)
presented to a CPM team of students for
demonstrating exemplary work in the completion
of the comprehensive curriculum project required
for certification.

The Society co-sponsors the Annual Manager's Conference on Excellence. Recognized
professionals participate as keynote speakers and presenters. Quarterly workshops/luncheons are also held throughout the year.![]()
RECOGNITIONS
The Society co-sponsors the Manager of the Year. The awards
are presented at the Annual Manager's Conference.![]()
CODE OF ETHICS
Members of the Society and the Academy must maintain a high standard of conduct in order to appropriately serve the public. This standard for conduct
provides basic principles for the exercise of public managerial responsibilities. By acceptance, members assume an obligation to comply with our Constitution and Bylaws.![]()
